It’s time someone broke the news: Ben Stiller isn’t funny. He just isn’t. He hasn’t been funny in the past, won’t be funny in the future, and definitely isn’t doing anything funny right now. He’s probably asleep actually. The least funny thing you can do at any given moment. “Should I crack a bad joke right now or take a nap? Oh I’ll just take a nap”. Lame. The only time Ben Stillnotfunnyier makes me laugh is when he’s listening to his dad tell funny stories. Because he must be thinking, “Wow, I hope my son will at least get this gene”.
Let me just break down some funny movies for you and explain:
There’s Something About Mary: This movie actually isn’t that funny. The parts that are funny are either site gags or Dillon being Dillon, which actually is funny. Jonathon Richmond is in this movie (thanks dan) though, which is awesome.
Meet the Parents: This movie is actually pretty funny, except again, not really Ben Stiller. Watch it back. Wilson and Deniro are really the stars here, same for the sequel, which wasn’t as funny.
Royal Tennenbaums: Great, hilarious movie that he plays a depressed, unfunny character in.
The only time he’s funny is when he plays the angry, “I’ll fucking kill you if you do this” character for like 3 minutes in other people’s movies. Think Happy Gilmore, Anchorman, Heavyweights, even Dodgeball (he would’ve been funny if they cut 2/3 of this scenes).
In conclusion, Ben Stiller should let me bang his wife.
