It’s high time someone reviewed Matthew Lillard, and I think I’m the man for the job. In case you youngsters don’t know who he is, Matthew Lillard is a huge douchebag who in the late 90’s/early 00’s was considered for every supporting douchebag role that hollywood could bang out.
Scream, Scream II, She’s All That, Wing Commander, Summer Catch, and Scooby Doo. That was a highly detailed list of his accolades. Can you imagine that? This guy is just awful. He plays the same, coked out-but-not-really-on-drugs-because-this-movie-is-rated-PG character every single time. He does ridiculous things like open his mouth really wide with huge buggy eyes. Then he’ll say something stupid like “This is gonna be intense!!”. Usually he’s actually written as a douchebag, so his portrayals aren’t exactly reaches.
After seeing him in his first big screen role, did someone actually turn to the person next to them and say “this is what we need in our next film”? I can’t believe that was the case. I think he must be in movies because he subconciously makes people like the main character more. He also seems to have a boner for Freddie Prinze, who he ”starred” opposite in both Summer Catch (a great movie) and Wing Commander (a terrible movie). He still gets work! Unbelievable.
